Silk1960s Boatneck Dress
Aqua, turqoise and olive green form an appealing and complicated panelled pattern on silk. Dress has a simplified boat neck in front, V neck in back. Cap sleeves are gusseted under the arms and there is a bit of pulling there, as is usual for that particular style. Matching covered belt features a classic little bow. The only label reads "Size 11" (remember, this is not a modern size 11). Measures: B = 34-36"; W = 26"; H = full; shoulder to waist = 15"; waist to hem = 28", across back = approximately 14". Metal back zipper is about 14" with a hook-and-eye closure at the top. Threaded belt loops. Original belt intact, adjusts from 26" - 27.5". Very good condition, with a little fraying by the zipper as well as the aforementioned gusset stretch. |
