Renoir Copper Earring Circa 194?
Copper earrings with a deco feel even though they were likely made in the late 1940s. Each clip is scripted “Renoir.” You gotta hand it to Jerry Fels, founder of Renoir of California. He modeled his creations after the best. The tarnish/polish ration is just right. Clip earrings each signed Renoir. Measure just about 7/8” square. Excellent condition.

1940s Cotton Slip
Unbelievable slip made in crisp white cotton cut entirely on the bias to give some stretch. Flat sewn eyelet lace at neckline and hem with side metal zipper closure! Wonderful and rare. I'm tempted to dye it some interesting color cause it would make a great summer dress, but love it in its pure state. Label - "her majesty" (yes, in lower case). Measures: B = 36", W = 31", H = 40", front length (shoulder line to hem) = 42.5" (shoulder straps adustable). Excellent condition. Machine washable.

Plaid Jacket Extraordinaire
Labelled “Bobbie Brooks “Calgary” by Carleton.” Impeccably tailored and constructed. Fabric is 85% wool, 15% nylon, a combination that wears like iron and probably explains why this jacket is in such beautiful condition. Mysteriously, the label also says “Sanforlan” which might be short for sanforized orlan, but who can say for sure? We thought only cotton was sanforized. The picture belies how muted and beautiful the colors are: dusty brown folds into a pale burned orange and light gray with a shot of soft blue. Patch pockets. Shoulder pleats. One button has been tastefully replaced, and it’s such a nice button you almost wish they were all like it--sort of pearlized. Measurements: sleeve=24” including 3” cuff, across back=20”, back length=26”, bust=38”. Excellent condition, no holes, no visible wear.

Plaid Jacket Redux
Fine plaid jacket from the 1940s when all the women, young and old and in-between, wore this kind of thing because fleece was way off in the future. Labelled “Graff californiawear, 100 percent wool.” E-mail for picture of the label: It’s a red globe with some artistic license taken on the depiction of North and South America. Inside yoke is nylon taffeta. Shoulder pleats. Someone removed one of the shoulder pads but left the little case to replace it; the other shoulder pad seems to have concentrated itself in the corners of the triangular lining. Interesting. Shoulder pleats. Excellent condition. Vivid colors of mint green; pale, medium, and navy blue; true red; light gray/brown. Original buttons. Measurements: sleeve=24” including 3” cuff, across back=20”, bust=42-44”, back length=26”.

Stylish Full-Length Peach Coat
Nubby peachy wonder from the late 1940s or early 1950s. Labeled “Westbrook Neusteter’s Denver”. Iridescent peachy lining (probably nylon taffeta). Coolest button ever, and there’s only the one: clear plastic with brass flowers and petals overlaying the fabric (someone has reinforced the threading). back length from neck=40.5”; sleeves=21-22” including 4” cuffs; fullness at hem=66”; bust=up to 44”; across back=15”. Excellent condition. Even though the peach color looks a little dulled, it is still remarkably attractive. We can’t say how much (or whether) dry cleaning would brighten it.)
